About

I Like Zen is a blog that first began in the pages of my moleskine journals. Having studied with Natalie Goldberg, I practice sitting, walking and writing meditation as a way to “live twice” and to study “mind” so that an understanding of the Self can be attained. Practicing in this manner leads to peace.

I have learned that when I sit, walk and write, I do it not for myself but for others who have undergone the universal experiences of pain and progress. Natalie Goldberg says that suffering is not a personal thing. I hope you find a sense of connection and inspiration from the writings and reflections contained within this blog to begin practicing as well.

It is in the moments of aloneness with our own thoughts, feelings and experiences that self awareness surfaces. Meditation and writing are also a communal acts. I host weekly writing meditation groups to tap into the collective energy and mind that supports us all. The commitment to meet with others strengthens and sweetens your practice. It helps you to keep showing up, to press on. It allows for the understanding that your human life, your story is both unique and universal.
